Who says pets don't teach kids anything?
A few weeks back, Cooper was really in the habit of emptying this soft leopard print box we use to store his books. He didn't really do much with it; carried it around and took the bottom brace out and played with that mostly.
So, I was getting some food ready for him and he was dragging the empty box back and forth, then it was quiet for a little too long. I found him just like this:

He couldn't be more proud of his accomplishment!
Here's some video of him trying to get back into the box (after he 'fell' out). I think he somehow forgot that the first time he got in, he must have braced himself on the sofa to get in successfully. It's pretty obvious that he didn't just get in without bracing himself...

Uncle Thomas' Birthday
Continuing the tradition of being behind on uploading pictures... here are a few from Uncle Thomas' Birthday:
Me and Coop, because it's a great picture.

And a picture of the cake, because it's, well... we'll just call it unique.

Here's Uncle Walker, with Thomas in the background, doing what he does automatically when the cameras come out.

And just in case anyone wonders where Walker's impulse comes from...

Cooper Loves Music
As previously noted, Cooper loves music. This pleases us greatly. Tobi and I are both musicians, and we would be so happy if Cooper followed in our footsteps.
Well, that's what we thought until Cooper decided to show us what 'instrument' he wants to play:
[Sigh.] Time to start saving up for a drum set, and soundproofing material. Lots and lots of soundproofing.

told you so...
So I mentioned a few posts back about how Cooper either bangs his head to music or he conducts the music. Here's the proof:
What's really great is that he does seem to enjoy all types of music. He seems to favor the classical, but he's constantly picking up background music in stores, on the TV, etc. and rockin' out.
(Apologies if the video is not as *high quality* as the previous - since it's a longer movie I had to drop the quality down to meet the upload size requirements.)
